There have been a lot since I first began. Some people seem to have a superhero power to make one set of characters & continue them for many years. Amazing!!!

Don’t think of them as bodies. that kinda has a morbid ring to it. They’re just in a kinda purgatory state, a way station. I have another strip yet unpublished with an older character.
